The Paint Process
Frames
Grind 2 frames smooth
Apply Undercoat
Sand until smooth for days.
Apply Undercoat again
And repeat the same until a perfect
finish is produced, then paint.
Inside Sidecar
Down to the metal, making sure everything
fits together with clean joints, and very straight
sides. Flush connection between all panels
inside
and out.

Tanks and fenders
Down to the metal. Make sure that
the two-piece back fender fits
together with a straight line.
Fill all holes. Fenders and tanks
are all is sanded smooth.
Undercoat is then applied.
Re-sanding by hand and machine.
Second undercoat is applied
Sanding done until smooth and
straight.

Outside Sidecar
Sanding both with power tools, and
by hand, and undercoat takes five days.
Fill in areas around the handles of
the sidecar, assuring smooth clean lines
down both inside and out.
All military weld lines on the
sidecar are filled and made flush
and smooth so both surfaces are
very straight.
Even the inside corners are paid particular
attention to.
So the finished project looks fine inside
and out.
Undercoat the sidecar.

Paint - Tanks Fenders and Sidecar
Lacquer paint - BASF or Dupont
Clear coat applied three times
Color sand with super fine wet
and dry sandpaper
Then buffed with lambswool
